The artistic and photographic work on this website reflects my passion for the natural history of the British Isles, and, indeed, the wider world.

In my lifetime I have seen a marked decline in the distribution and population of many birds, as well as some mammals, flowers, butterflies and dragonflies. A few have increased, with some extending their range northwards in response to the warming climate. What drives me is to understand, record and photograph as many of these species as possible.

We have to remind ourselves that we are a part of nature, not apart from it, and begin to care properly for the natural world and all its creatures. Although we are now living through a human-induced extinction era not seen since the dinosaurs died out, there is, for some little time, so much of beauty and wonder still to be celebrated: I hope my work will stand as a reminder of what we have to lose.
